Yorktown Stars & Stripes celebration coming June 27

For an evening of patriotic family fun at the Yorktown Stars & Stripes Celebration on Saturday, June 27.

The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. in front of the Yorktown Library with the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem, courtesy of Justin Trevino and Jonathan Guerrero of Yorktown's own Verdigo.

Throughout the evening, enjoy:

• Patriotic Parade 5:30 p.m.

• Live Music Featuring Matt Thigpen with Dr. Gordon Barth and David Williams – 7 to 10 p.m.

• Youth Car Truck Show – 6 to 8 p.m.

• Homemade Ice Cream Contest - Turn In 6:30 PM at Big Pavilion - Judging 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. • Salsa, Dessert & Appetizer Contests - Turn In 6:30 p.m. at Fire Station • Pet Photo Contest - Last Day to Enter Saturday, June 20 Winners Announced June 27

• Home & Business Decorating Contest Judging Takes Place Friday, June 26

• Food Trucks & Hot Dogs for Sale

• Spectacular Fireworks Show by Skinny's Fireworks Around 9 p.m.

• Winners Announced at The Big Pavilion Shortly After 8 p.m.

Whether you plan to watch or participate, there's fun for everyone. Bring your lawn chairs and find a comfortable spot in the City Park to enjoy the parade and festivities. If you'd like to join the parade, come dressed in your best patriotic attire and decorate your wagons, bicycles, strollers, and more for our All-American Parade.
