The Cuero Police Department is seeking applicants for patrol officer positions and is now offering a $6,000 sign-on bonus for experienced law enforcement officers.
According to the department, officers receive a benefits package that includes 14 paid holidays, two weeks of paid vacation, certification pay, longevity pay and department-provided equipment and uniforms. The city also pays 100% of employee insurance premiums and offers a retirement plan with a 2-to-1 match.
Additional benefits include a takehome vehicle within surrounding counties, a 10-hour work schedule, paid gym memberships, department- provided training and opportunities for off-duty security work.
Starting pay depends on qualifications, with academy graduates beginning at $53,400 annually. The department also offers tuition reimbursement opportunities for police academy training.
Applicants must be TCOLE certified or currently enrolled in an accredited police academy and be able to pass a background investigation.
