The Cuero Community Foundation is proud to recognize four local students who have been awarded 2026 Vocational/ Technical Scholarships, each valued at $4,500. The scholarship recipients are Ayden Dworaczyk, Tanner Lucas, Sean Dean Salazar and Blayne Zengerle. These awards support students pursuing vocational or technical education and reflect a continued commitment to expanding opportunities for local graduates as they prepare for future careers.
The four Vocational/ Technical Scholarships were made possible through a consortium of three entities formed through two distinct alliances: ConocoPhillips and the Cuero Community Foundation, and ConocoPhillips and the Cuero ISD Education Foundation. The scholarships are funded through grants awarded by ConocoPhillips to each organization, along with matching funds from each foundation.
Together, these partnerships help strengthen educational pathways for students who are preparing to enter skilled trades, technical fields and career-focused programs. By investing in vocational and technical training, the organizations are helping students take meaningful steps toward long-term success while also supporting workforce development in the region.
“These scholarships represent what can happen when community organizations, donors and industry partners come together for students,” said Bill Blackwell, Cuero Community Foundation board president. “We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of our donors and supporters. Their commitment makes these opportunities possible, and the impact on these students’ futures is immeasurable.”
When the Vocational/ Technical Scholarships wereannounced, the room broke into applause, reflecting the pride, excitement and encouragement surrounding the students and their future opportunities.
For the Cuero Community Foundation, the scholarship program is part of a larger mission to support projects, partnerships and opportunities that benefit the local communities. The foundation works to connect generosity with meaningful impact, helping donors and community partners support efforts that improve quality of life in Cuero and the surrounding area.
The Cuero Community Foundation’s collaboration with ConocoPhillips and the Cuero ISD Education Foundation reflects the importance of shared investment in education. Through grant funding, matching foundation support and community involvement, the scholarship program helps students access training that can lead to stable, rewarding careers.
The Cuero Community Foundation congratulates Ayden Dworaczyk, Tanner Lucas, Sean Dean Salazar and Blayne Zengerle on receiving this year’s Vocational/ Technical Scholarships. The foundation also extends its appreciation to ConocoPhillips, the Cuero ISD Education Foundation, donors, board members and community supporters who helped make the awards possible.
