GOD first....Heavenly Father, though we strive to always do the right thing, we know that our sins will be forgiven if they are made with a heart willing to learn and to grow. By forgiving us, You free us to be who we are, warts and all, always knowing that we are loved no matter how we mess up. We give thanks and ask for Your blessings the name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen.
SON: Dad, does bigamy mean that a man has one wife too many?
DAD: Not neces-sarily, son. A man can have one wife too many and still not be a bigamist.

A couple of weeks ago, I reported that the Nordheim Education Foundation, which was supporting Nordheim ISD students and teachers, had a goal of $500,000. The $500.000 was the amount already spent toward students and teachers already. For this School Year, the total accumulated this year is almost $200,000 and still growing. Each graduating student will receive a scholarship at the end of the school year and 13 students have taken the advantage of getting help from the Foundation to get them into college their first semester.
The Nordheim High School Track has been completed. Looks good and the finishing touches are still needed as track lanes have not been marked.
The contractors for the four lane highway around Nordheim have been making progress. They have reached Oak St. and will be going from there to North St. They will be replacing a leaky water cut off valve that is between Si Lee Wofford and E.V. Krause gas stations. My Aunt Lilie would stop there to get gas as we nieces and nephews would be treated to a movie in Yorktown, that starred the great child movie star, Shirley Temple. Those were the days. On the way home, we would stop at Charpentier's and get a nickel cup of ice cream that featured a movie star on the back of the lid of the cup of ice cream. The water line will also be extended well above the sewer line to North st.
See you next week.
