Ford Motor Company and Texas Ford Dealers announce the six winners of the 2024 Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week trophy for week three. These outstanding gridiron heroes earned the award for their performance on the field as well as their leadership off the field. All weekly winners will ultimately be eligible to become Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Players of the Year.
Week Three Winners:
Class 6A: Mikey Cota Class 5A: Luke Dunham Class 4A: Jaxxon Marie Class 3A: Eric Cisneros Class 2A: DJ Barnes Private School: Sawyer Anderson Class 4A: Jaxxon Marie, Junior, QB, Cuero High School Opponent: Yoakum High School Jaxxon Marie was making only his third start as a varsity quarterback when Cuero traveled to Yoakum on Friday night to play its DeWitt County rival for the 115th time. But Marie, a junior, played like an experienced veteran. He completed 16 of 21 passes without an interception for 262 yards and five touchdowns and rushed 16 times for 196 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Gobblers to a 61-49 win. Marie’s performance led to his selection as the Class 4A Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week.
