The Yorktown High School and Junior Cross Country teams have been busy, as they have run the past two Saturdays. On September 7, 2024, the teams competed at Poth. In the Varsity Boys division, senior Johnathan Guerrero was the top Wildcat finisher in 27th place. In the 7th Grade Girls division, Meigh Navarro was the top Kitty Kat finisher in 29th place. In the 7th Grade boys division, Kaden Patten medaled in 16th place.
On September 14, 2024, they competed at the 36th Annual Moulton Cross Country Meet. In the Varsity Girls division, sophomore Rylie Krueger was the top Kitty Kat finisher, medaling in 10th place. The girls team placed 6th overall in the Varsity Girls. In the Varsity Boys division, there were two runners who medalled: senior Johnathan Guerrero (8th) and senior Layne Geffert (18th). Overall, the boys placed 7th as a team. The Junior High Boys did well, as they ran in a huge division with 177 JH boys running. Top 7th grade boys were Colt Lassman (37th), Kaden Patten (47th).
The Yorktown runners will also compete at the Goliad Invitational on September 21, 2024.
