Recently I traveled to Branson, MO, with my wife and several of our friends. We attended the Hughes Brothers Christmas Show and was very entertained and enlightened with their performance. It was a family atmosphere and all their children participated in the program.
One of the best parts of the show featured a program called “Teach the Children.” All during their show they told about the children are our future and we, as adults, need to teach them about Jesus Christ and His Saving Grace. As we do this, we should teach them about ethical values and morals, how important their integrity is to the future of their life. If we teach them these values, then the future of our nation will turn away once again from the worldly expectations that we have allowed to become part of our daily living.
Jesus tells us in Luke 9:48, “…and said to them, ‘Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.’” Jesus loves children. He affirms and respects them as persons and acknowledges their spirit. We, as parents and adults, need to nurture them and raise them in a Christian manner and warn them about the ways of the world. With so many changes taking place in our society of non-Christian attitudes, they are learning ways of life that is not conducive to what the Bible teaches us.
