GOD first...Heavenly Father, we pray for rain. For those around us that are weak and weary of constantly suffering with their own problems, give them strength to join us and unite with us in prayer as we ask in the name of our Savior, to comfort and heal us of all our doubts and fears, to be with us all, helping through the strength of Your Amazing Grace. Amen.
***Otto and Lenna had been married under not so happy circumstances and their married life had not been anything to brag about either. But when Otto went to the local judge to ask for an annulment after being married for thirty-five years, the whole town gasped in amazement.
A date for the hearing was set and when the time came, the Judge insisted on knowing the reason why Otto wanted an annulment.
'It's like this,' said Otto, 'I just learned that Lenna's father never had any shells for that shotgun he carried to our wedding..'
We received some great news this morning at Kaffee Klatch as the rebuilt/ref urbished pews were inside the church at St.
Paul Lutheran Church in Nordheim. It seems like a year that we have been meeting in the Parish Hall, but they were taken to Victoria in March to be worked on. After the church services this Sunday, everyone will be asked to help transfer all the hymnals to the inside of the church. At least, that's the plan so far.
Our new supply pastor, Kay Johnson, has been and will be our pastor until a new pastor will be assigned. She has been retired for several years in Fredericksburg. We are hopeful that our Lord sends us another young pastor as He has done in the past. We break them in and the Bishop transfers them to other churches. It's our job to groom them and GOD's job to guide them. Thank You Lord and we lovingly look forward to a new experience.
Pastor Kay Johnson is a sister to Gail Tisdale, who lives on this side of Smith Creek. Pastor Kay currently lives at her home in Fredericksburg and will be here from Thursdays to Sunday.
Was asked to announce that flu shots will be available at St. Paul Lutheran Church Parish Hall on October 10. This year, there will be a sign up sheet in the coffee room.
