The Bfit Cuero Wellness Center, alongside its members, celebrated ten years standing strong on September 23rd. The journey began a decade ago when the DeWitt Medical Foundation embarked on a mission to raise $2.5 million to build and equip a new wellness center.

Eric Draper served as past DeWitt Medical Foundation Board Trustee and Co-Project Manager overseeing the Wellness Center Build22.

'The original vision for the wellness center was modest, much smaller than the grand facility we see today,” Draper said. “However, through the incredible support of our community and generous donors, the vision evolved.'

He said a partnership of stakeholders helped the fitness center get on its feet.

'Any municipality or individual can build a wellness center, but the true challenge lies in becoming cash flow positive as soon as possible. The partnership between the hospital, the wellness center staff, and the Dewitt Medical Foundation played a key role in achieving this financial stability.' said Draper.

With the support of charitable individuals and local businesses, a dream was turned into reality. Draper went on to say 'As a DMF board member and someone with experience in opening several health clubs, I was involved in aspects such as layout design and equipment selection, helping shape the foundation of the center.'

As members and supporters gathered for the anniversary celebration this past week, they enjoyed free massages, teas by AlphaLyfe Nutrition, and $10 new membership fees. Numerous door prizes were given away including a 1-year membership to current wellness center member, Hope Picha, to help her continue her wellness journey.

“Our members are the heart of Bfit, and this month we celebrate not only a decade of wellness but the incredible journeys each of our members have taken with us. We are looking forward to the next chapter,” Bfit Cuero Wellness Center Director Tami Brzozowski said.

The grand opening of the Bfit Cuero Wellness Center on September 14, 2014, marked a new chapter in the town’s commitment to well-being, and it quickly became a cornerstone for health and fitness.

“Carol and I have been members of the Bfit fitness center since its inception,” John Hildebrand, ellness center member, said. “We understand firsthand the importance of maintaining strength and mobility as we age, and try to visit the center four or five times a week. We are very fortunate to have a first class fitness center of this caliber in our small town.”

The center has doubled its membership since that first day, welcoming families, seniors, and fitness enthusiasts of all levels. From spin classes to strength training, Bfit has become a second home for many—a place where friendships blossom and fitness goals are achieved.

Potential new members are always welcome to stop by for a visit and get a personal tour of the facility. Also,to learn more about the benefits of becoming a member, visit www.cueroregionalhospital. org/services/bfit-cuero- wellness-center/ or call 361-275-9355.
