On Saturday, October 5th, the Tree Board of Cuero organized a work day in the park to mulch the trees, prior to Turkeyfest. Young Gobblers volunteered their time and strength to help spread mulch around trees. A special thank you to Allan Hartman for providing and operating the tractor equipment. The job couldn’t have been done without the tractor equipment. Tree Board members, Bill Hickey and Tamara Kainer shared education with the volunteers on the benefits mulch provides to the trees. Mulch provides not only protection of the roots, but also nutrients and a moisture barrier.
The Tree Board would like to thank all who participated Saturday. Their commitment, dedication of time, and talents were very much appreciated for the good of our community. Those who participated in mulching trees Saturday were Bill Hickey, Tamara Kainer, Allan Hartman, Isaac Ward, Guadalupe Reyes, Adam Medrano, Karen Arguellez, Laynee Eaton, Kelton Eaton, Craig Kallus and Weston Pizalate.
