Homebound individuals are urged by DeWitt County’s Office of Emergency Manager Billy Jordan to sign up with the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry, or STEAR, program also known as 211.
Cory Smith with Cuero Home Health said her agency offers assistance to each client in signing up, and it takes less than 10 minutes. She said patients with in-home oxygen should definitely be registered, so officials and first responders can check on them in the event of an electrical outage.
According to the Tex- Jay Babcock (L) and Cory Smith (R) hold raffle baskets at the Cuero Home Health office, 613 Esplanade. Proceeds from the ongoing raffle will help homebound patients with extra necessities during the Christmas holidays. Tickets can be purchased for $5 at the office during business hours with ongoing drawings for winners. Each season new lighted door hangers are included as prizes.
