Larry Otto Riedel, M.D.

Larry Otto Riedel, M.D., 95, of Victoria, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024. He was born July 23, 1929 in Yorktown to Wilfred and Martha Taylor Riedel.

Larry Otto Riedel, M.D., 95, of Victoria, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024.

He was born July 23, 1929 in Yorktown to Wilfred and Martha Taylor Riedel.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years Janyth Riedel, son James Riedel (Laura), daughter Cari Riedel, Brandon Daniel (Jessica) and Amy Daniel. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Stacy Riedel, Justin Krawietz (Lindsey), Chloe and Christopher Daniel and Chance, Christine Gregg, Aimee Elles, Patrick and Austin Denison. Great Grandchildren Caden Krawietz, Easton Krawietz, Charlie Denison and Otto Denison. Motherin- law Barbara Hooker, Brother-in-Law, David Hooker (Sarah) and sister- in-law Julie Mickits (Kevin). Nephew David Riedel, M.D. (Kathy). Great Niece and Nephew Shannon Crockett and Claude Lee and many other relatives, co-workers and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Martha Taylor Riedel, first wife Billye Riedel, son Larry O. Riedel Jr., and brother W.T. Riedel.

Larry was a faithful Christian and servant. Larry was born and raised in Yorktown, Texas where he graduated from Yorktown High School. He was a graduate of the University of Texas Pharmacy School and University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. After receiving his medical doctorate Larry served in the US military as a physician for four years in Germany.

When Larry and his family returned to the states he made Victoria, Texas their home. Larry has worked and served in the Victoria community for over 60 years where he has touched innumerable lives with his care and compassion. He will be greatly missed as he was a friend to all.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Citizens Medical Center and the wonderful physicians and staff for their compassionate care provided during his illness.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at Northside Baptist Church in Victoria.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Northside Baptist Church followed by a private family burial at the Riedel Ranch in Yorktown, Texas.

Pallbearers will be: Justin Krawietz, Christopher Daniel, Taylor Riedel, Claude Lee, Patrick Denison, Austin Denison.

In lieu of flowers family has requested that memorials may be given to Samaritan’s Purse to assist hurricane relief.
