The Mueller-Schaffner American Legion Post #369 of Westhoff, Texas met on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 6:30 pm for a delicious pot luck meal followed by a 7:00 pm meeting presided by Terri Boothe. Old minutes and financials were reviewed and approved. Kristye Kahlich gave a historical report from the 1962 minutes which included information of planning of many food items for Sausage Feast with 1000 plates to be sold. Very interesting!
The American Legion and Westhoff School will work together to place flags on veteran graves at Westhoff Cemetery on November 5, 2024. Homemade cookies will be made for Christmas gifts and distributed to our home bound members on December 17, 2024. There were various items on the agenda that need repairs or attention. Various members will work on these projects.
Deceased members were remembered including Willard Ray Egger and Sharon Wayne Fuchs. Memorial donations were given in their memory. A monetary donation to be given to a local fire victim.
Seventeen members attended and three new members joined. Our organization continues to seek new members to help preserve patriotism and service. Contact Terri Boothe at 361-275-4852 for membership information.
Our next meeting is scheduled for January 27, 2025. We are thankful for our freedom and all branches of the military.
