Goliad - Alfred Emil Boehl, 71, of Goliad, passed peacefully from life in this world on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. He was born to parents Edmund G. Boehl and Herta Huber Boehl of Weesatche, on August 11, 1953.

Alfred grew up in Weesatche until age 13, when the family moved to Houston in 1966. He graduated from Jefferson Davis H.S. in 1971, and from the University of Houston in 1976 (accounting). His most recent employers were Catholic Healthcare West and McKesson Corp. in San Francisco and in Dallas. He retired in 2018 and settled in Victoria, becoming a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his sister Barbara A. Bryson and brothers Herbert G. Boehl and Norman W. Boehl. Alfred is also survived by nieces Pamela Huffman and Melissa Abbott, and nephews Brian John and Kendal Morgan. In addition, there are several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother Walter H. Boehl, and oldest sister Evelin E. Boehl.

The family has deep gratitude for cousins Lana and Jerald Allen, caregiver Jolynn, and others who made his last years the very best possible.

Alfred enjoyed photography (using a real camera!) in nature, wildlife, and vacation trips, and excelled in his yard's ornamental gardening. He took trips to local museums and was very interested in local historical sites and events. He loved antique cars and cars in general, identifying their make, model and year when he was four or five years old. He enjoyed Weesatche 4 Warriors fundraising, and was active in family events and gatherings whenever it was possible for him to attend.

Alfred is already deeply missed. We will truly know the role he played in our lives as we quietly become aware of his absence and our inability to just call him up.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm October 26, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Weesatche, Texas, with Pastor Kevin Karnei officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Cemetery.
