Desirae Poth-Garibay attended the 2024 Conference of the County Investment Academy, hosted by the Texas Association of Counties (TAC), from June 10 to 12 in Dallas County.
The annual conference offers county officials crucial insights and resources on investment strategies, financial management and best practices.
“It is essential to stay informed about the latest strategies in financial investment and management,” Poth-Garibay said. “I came away from the County Investment Academy conference equipped with knowledge that will help me better serve the citizens of DeWitt County and manage our financial resources.
This year’s sessions featured expert speakers, informative sessions and networking opportunities focused on helping counties manage their investment portfolios and public funds effectively.
During the conference, Poth-Garibay learned about the latest trends and developments in public finance, investment policies and economic outlooks. She participated in discussions covering risk management, compliance and strategies for optimizing investment returns while ensuring the security of public funds.
