The Cuero Regional Hospital EMS department extends its heartfelt gratitude to the community for their generous donations during the recent EMS Stuff the Truck event. Thanks to the incredible support from families, local churches, high school youth organizations, and community leaders, we are thrilled to announce that over 450 stuffed animals and $400 in monetary donations were collected to help provide comforting stuffed animals to children experiencing medical emergencies.
The event not only celebrated this remarkable achievement but also emphasized the importance of community collaboration in supporting our youngest and most vulnerable patients. Each donated stuffed animal represents a small source of comfort and reassurance during difficult times, and we are grateful for everyone who contributed.
Our staff of 26 Cuero EMS personnel are skilled healthcare professionals trained to deliver immediate medical care in emergency situations. They provide essential life-saving treatment to individuals in critical conditions, making a significant impact on saving lives and promoting patient well-being. Lights and sirens in an emergency situation can be scary for anyone, but especially terrifying for a child. Children make an instant connection with stuffed animals. They're soft, cuddly and provide real comfort when a child is in an uncertain or scary situation. Stuffed animals are a vital piece of equipment on the ambulance for Cuero EMS when caring for a frightened child or elderly person.
