The Cuero Regional Hospital EMS department extends its heartfelt gratitude to the community for their generous donations during the recent EMS Stuff the Truck event. Thanks to the incredible support from families, local churches, high school youth organizations, and community leaders, we are thrilled to announce that over 450 stuffed animals and $400 in monetary donations were collected to help provide comforting stuffed animals to children experiencing medical emergencies.

The event not only celebrated this remarkable achievement but also emphasized the importance of community collaboration in supporting our youngest and most vulnerable patients. Each donated stuffed animal represents a small source of comfort and reassurance during difficult times, and we are grateful for everyone who contributed.

Our staff of 26 Cuero EMS personnel are skilled healthcare professionals trained to deliver immediate medical care in emergency situations. They provide essential life-saving treatment to individuals in critical conditions, making a significant impact on saving lives and promoting patient well-being. Lights and sirens in an emergency situation can be scary for anyone, but especially terrifying for a child. Children make an instant connection with stuffed animals. They're soft, cuddly and provide real comfort when a child is in an uncertain or scary situation. Stuffed animals are a vital piece of equipment on the ambulance for Cuero EMS when caring for a frightened child or elderly person.

“The teddy bears are so important to Cuero EMS, that each morning when we check out the ambulances, we make sure that we have enough stuffed animals to hand out throughout the day. Our hope is that in the event a child is faced with a traumatic situation, that a little stuffed animal may bring them some comfort, calm them, put a little smile on their face, and possibly make them feel safe knowing that EMS is there to help.” Explained Freddie Solis, Cuero EMS Director.

'We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community,' said Tamara Kainer, Marketing Director at CRH. 'It’s inspiring to see so many people come together for such an important cause. These donations will make a significant difference in the lives of children in need.'

The success of the EMS Stuff the Truck event showcases the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines our community. Together, we are creating a safer and more supportive environment for all.

Thank you once again to everyone who participated, donated, and spread the word. Your kindness has a lasting impact!
