Helping Hands

WWII veteran H. L. Bammert, of Weesatche, received one of the lap quilts given to veterans at September’s Day in the Country, sponsored by Weesatche 4 Warriors. The 10th annual event honored veterans, active duty military and first responders with Chuck Wagon meals and live entertainment. So far this year Weesatche 4 Warriors has raised $43,000 to benefit local veterans. In September they donated funds to DeWitt County Vietnam Veterans, DeWitt County Cares, and Yorktown EMS.
