Library Food Drive
The Cuero Municipal Library is having its Annual Food Drive to benefit the CAMAL House. The food drive will run from November 1 to November 27, encouraging community members to donate non-perishable food items to support local families in need.
Night Fever: A Tribute to the Bee Gees
Get ready to groove to legendary hits like 'Stayin' Alive' and 'Night Fever' while you dust off your dancing shoes and relive the glory days of disco. More than just a concert, this event supports education in Cuero. All proceeds will benefit the Cuero ISD Education Foundation, funding innovative projects and educational initiatives that go beyond the district’s regular budget. Tickets start at just $35 and are available online at cueroedfoundation.org. The event will take place this Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Cuero Performing Arts Center, so be sure to secure your spot before they’re gone!
Veteran’s Day Celebration
Cuero Regional Hospital will honor and celebrate Veterans on Monday, November 11th at 8:30 a.m. in the Main Lobby, with FREE hot coffee and sweet donuts. Join us in honoring and thanking our Cuero Health Veterans along with friends and family Veterans in our community.

Turkey Trot Stockholders Meeting
Cuero Fair & Turkey Trot Association will have a Stockholders Meeting on Monday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Friar Ag Center.
“Arsenic and Old Lace”
The Shiner Gaslight Theatre (207 East 7th St) presents “Arsenic and Old Lace,' the fall production on Fri., Sat., and Sun., November 8, 9, 10,15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24. A Wednesday performance is Nov. 13. All are in the evening except for Sunday matinees. The comedy involves Mortimer Brewster, who has discovered that his two spinster aunts have been poisoning lonely old men for years. A meal is served before the play. Veteran’s Day Chicken BBQ
The American Legion Dinter Post 3 is hosting a Veteran’s Day Chicken BBQ on Saturday, Nov. 9. The proceeds will go to help area veterans in need and for Post home improvements. The BBQ will be held at the American Legion Hall, 310 S. Esplanade with chicken pickup times from 10:30-12:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the DeWitt County Coop and Ander’s Auto Supply in Downtown Cuero. We are asking for $15 donation for each BBQ chicken.
EMS 35 Year Celebration
Yorktown EMS is proud to be celebrating 35 years of serving our community and surrounding areas. To celebrate this honor, plans are underway for a Family Fun Filled Day on Saturday, November 9, starting at 4 p.m. at Yorktown Community Hall. Activities of the day include a bounce house for the kids, putt putt golf, a cornhole tournament, silent auction, and BBQ plates. Then DANCE the night away with Chris Gonzales and The Rekkers from 7-11 p.m. Yorktown EMS is a non-profit organization and without the support of our community this would not be possible. Annual Turkey Shoot
The Cuero Rotary Club is excited to announce its annual Turkey Shoot, taking place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Cuero Sportsman Club, located at 902 E. Bailey St., Cuero, TX. This community event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their marksmanship in 16 thrilling shooting rounds, competing for a variety of prizes and cash rewards. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting local organizations and providing scholarships to deserving graduates of Cuero High School. Chili & Gun Raffle Scholarship Fundraiser
The DeWitt County Go Texan Committee will be having their annual chili fundraising event on Thursday, December 12 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Hall, between 5-8 p.m. The chili will be $10 per quart and will be “to go” only. The Go Texan Committee is also currently selling gun raffle tickets. Chili tickets and gun raffle tickets can be bought from all Go Texan members, but for convenience they can also be purchased at the DeWitt County Extension Office. These two fundraising events are held annually to benefit the local scholarship program, which has enabled the committee to award approximately $170,000 to local high school graduates over the past 10 years! Every Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. the Cuero Municipal Library has Family Storytime.

DeWitt County Shutterbugs
Do you love photography?
Do you want to learn more, be inspired, challenged? Do you want to get together with other creative photographers? If so, please join us at a Shutterbugs meeting. Meetings are held on every third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cuero, 408 N. Gonzales Street. Please enter through the front door under the awning. Child Find Evaluations
School districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services. Child Find is a process to identify, locate, and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD’s are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Eligibility is determined through a team assessment by program staff.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email [email protected].
