Wow, six months have come and gone since my swearing in the Office of Cuero Mayor.
Today is Veterans Day, a day to honor all those who have retired or served honorably in the Nation’s military, someone who at some time in their life, signed a blank check made payable to “The United States of America” for an amount up to and including, his/ her life. Thank you to all our Veterans!!
I was asked the other day to explain the difference between Armed Forces Day, Veterans Day and Memorial Day: Armed Forces Day pays tribute to the men and women who serve in all six branches of our military and acknowledges their dedication, sacrifices, and the pivotal role they play in safeguarding our nation’s interests, security and ideals. It is appropriate to say Happy Armed Forces Day and thank you for your service.
