Time for Deputy Santa requests, donations

Dear Editor, It is that time of year again! Christmas is just around the corner. The DeWitt County Sheriffs Office will again be sponsoring the Deputy Santa Program for the needy children of this county. The last 27 years that Deputy Santa has been in operation have been a great success. We have helped so many needy children in our county have a wonderful, merry Christmas. We wish to continue to provide for the needy children throughout DeWitt County. Our efforts have taken us from one end of the county to the other and throughout all of our communities. We would like to thank all of our contributors from the past 26 years, and we hope their donations along with any new donations this year will help satisfy the needs of the children in our community.

Dear Editor,

It is that time of year again!

We are asking parents of needy children to sign up those children, ages 16 and under. The Deputy Santa Wishlist will be out November 23 at the DeWitt County Sheriffs Office at 208 E. Live Oak, Cuero; Yorktown City Hall at 119 E. Main St., Yorktown; the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Co., 312 E. Main St., Cuero; and the Juvenile Probation Office, 310 Dunn St., Cuero. Wishlist forms must be returned to the DeWitt County Sheriffs Office or Yorktown City Hall by no later than 5 p.m., December 16.

We are kindly asking for unwrapped toys or wrapping paper to benefit our cause. You may bring them to the DeWitt County Sheriff's office (addresses above), Yorktown City Hall, the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Co., or the Juvenile Probation Office.

Any monetary donations may be mailed or brought to us at any time. Please make checks payable to “Deputy Santa.”

If any donors should have any questions about the program, please feel free to call the Sheriff's Office and speak to Kim at 361-275-5734 or 361-275-0899.

We will begin delivering the gifts to the children December 20-24.

Thank you for your help and God Bless!

Sheriff Carl R. Bowen
