Monday night supper club delicious, Santa stops in Nordheim first!

Heavenly Father... Heavenly Father, today I feel alone, yet I am not lonely. There is peace in solitude while I pray in quietness to lead my thoughts to restful healing. Help me use this time alone to find myself and reach deep inside my heart and mind to find peace. Calm the spirit within me as I reach out for Your Amazing Grace and pray in the name of our dear Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Since the Broadway Bar has been closed for a while, the Monday night bar supper group have started to meet at the Nordheim Shooting Club as they did this week. Those that missed last Monday night meeting sure did miss some good stew made by Bret and Bernadet Clodre with some help by Jeany Heard. Haven't had stew that good in ages.

One of my stories a long time ago came to mind recently when somebody complained that there were many fluid drive cats roaming everywhere here in town. As I recall, the story goes about a skunk that was roaming the town one night accidentally or on purpose entered Smokies Bar via the front door and as the patrons of the bar hurriedly ran out the back, the skunk nonchalantly took its time walking through minding its own business. Those that ran out the back saw the animal ambering toward them so they all went around to the front of the bar and watched the skunk walk out the back with the relief of the owner, August Wunderlich. He remarked later, 'He didn't even stop for a beer.'

This Thursday's Kaffee Klatch was a quiet one as there were only 6 people there. This time, we recalled how blessed we were having professionals and experienced people living here in Nordheim. When there is a need, John Green is the one who is first at the scene. Just about everyone of us could remember when we needed his services. He was always there making sure care was given until the ambulance arrived. We all had stories of one time or another as we experienced his professional expertise. We're just glad that he retired as a lieutenant from the Austin Fire Department and moved to Nordheim along with his wife and children and bought a home here. Lori had a lot to do with that.

Happy Thanksgiving! Plan to eat a lot of turkey and have lots of fellowship. Will also add that Thursday, Kaffee Klatch will not meet, but those that attended this week wanted to have it. I think they were kidding or at least they better not come because I'm not going to be there to make it.
