More than 150 celebrators gathered at the Cuero Municipal Library to light the Christmas tree on November 26. Families enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies while children decorated ornaments and hung them on the tree as they anticipated the lighting at 6:30 p.m.
“Wells Fargo Bank planted a Christmas tree thirty-five years ago at the Esplanade Main Branch to raise money for the Fine Arts Center,” Laurie Wendel, an investment advisor, said. It left fond memories.
That tree is still there, but the official city tree was moved to Main Street. Now due to the restoration of the Graves Building, Cuero moved it to the front of the Cuero Municipal Library this year, starting a new tradition.
