Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Yorktown Western Days Association, I would like to take a few minutes to thank St Paul Lutheran Church members, Holy Cross Catholic Church members, and all the other local individuals who generously donated towards our Cowboy Claus campaign for this year. Each year we serve children ages 0-15 who are less fortunate with numerous toys, gifts, and other items they are in need of to make sure everyone has a magical Christmas. Without your donations and continued support we would not be able to provide this event.
Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you, Kristin Gibson Event Coordinator Yorktown Western Days Association, Inc.
KYB hosts Christmas luncheon
Dear Editor,
As an appreciation to the City of Yorktown employees, the Mayor and City Council Members, DeWitt County Sheriff/Yorktown Deputies, and Justice of the Peace Peggy Mayer and Blanca McBride, the Keep Yorktown Beautiful organization hosted a Christmas Luncheon on December 5, 2024 at Venue 564. A delicious meal of smoked pork loin, salads, vegetables, homemade bread, rolls, and desserts was enjoyed by all in attendance.
After the meal, door prizes were drawn and shared with the lucky winners. Many thanks are extended to the following local businesses and individuals for graciously donating the door prizes: Apple Lumber Company, Citizens Bank, Dare to Dream Salon and Boutique, Davy Ranch Supply, DeWitt County Co-op, Donna Roeder, 5D Steakhouse & Lounge, Dorothy Mayfield, Family Dollar, Bill & Heather Menn, Lowe’s Markets, M. H. Leske, Prosperity Bank, Simmons Bank, Patty Strieber, The Texan, and Trust Texas Bank.
