Jimmy Ray Bulgerin, 85, of Cuero passed away Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born in Seguin, Guadalupe County on February 15, 1939 to Theodore R. Sr. and Louie Lambert Bulgerin. He attended Seguin Independent School graduating high school in 1957. He married Helen Ruth Hadamek on June 18, 1960 in Cuero at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was drafted into the US Army on October 15, 1962 and was honorably discharged on October 15, 1964. He served active duty in Miami, Florida. Upon discharge he went to work for the United States Postal Service. He worked in Cuero, Victoria and later became the Postmaster in Hallettsville and retired in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Bulgerin; two daughters, Margaret Ann Clough of Columbia, SC and Venessa Ruth Navarro of Seguin; five grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Breanne Clough Smith, Casey Clough and Luca Navarro; seven great-grandchildren, Laedyn Ray Bulgerin, Zayn, Leah, Linkin, Levi, Charlotte and David and brother, Roy “Bones” Bulgerin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Joe and Teddy; sister, Dorothy Jean and one daughter, Linda Faye Thompson.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, 5-7 PM at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Cuero.
Pallbearers include Donnie Caraway, Roy Weise, David Weise, Johnny Jurek, Waldo Navarro, Dra Johnson and Laedyn Bulgerin.
The Honorary Pallbearer is Roy “Bones” Bulgerin.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
