GOD first...Heavenly Father, we are hopeful in finding ways in helping those around us. Use our talents and our resources, through Your Amazing Grace, in helping the many who are without hope and faith. Give us strength, guidance, and patience as we try to show others the power and might of Thy mercy. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

A woman at a gas station noted a space ship that had landed in front of her. An alien stepped out of the space ship and started to pump gas into it.
The woman noticed the lettering UFO printed on the side of the space craft. She turned to the alien and asked, 'Does UFO stand for Unidentified Flying Object?'
The alien answers, 'No, it stands for Unleaded Fuel Only.'
Nordheim and the community really received a great Christmas Day Gift this year. Prayers were answered and GOD sent us a precious gift of rain. I recorded 4.8' of rain here at my house and a lot of the people gauged more. Some say 6' and a few reported more. Along with it, there was a train load of lightning with a lot of nitrogen that will certainly help grow a good crop of oats or wheat. On Christmas Day in 2004, we had a foot of snow. This may also be a record amount of rain we experienced in any one day period this year. Thank You Lord!
Kaffee Klatch was well attended this last week on Thursday 19th with over 14 people attending. Somebody made a remark that it was too bad that we didn't have some Christmas music to listen to while enjoying our coffee and companionship. So one of our group got up and went to the piano. Dora Shue started playing to our utter amazement. Some may have known that she could play the piano but most didn't. She didn't even have sheet music but played by memory. What a great surprise. Thank you Dora, It made our day.
A lady at Wall Mart was at the frozen turkey bin and she was picking through all the turkeys she could find when one of the instore managers walked by her. She stopped him and asked, 'Do any of these turkeys get bigger?'
He replied, 'No mam, they're all dead.'
A preacher was with a dying man in the hospital expecting the worst. All of a sudden, the old man started struggling and flaying his arms and making gestures he needed to write something because he couldn't talk. The preacher gave him a pencil and paper to write with his dying breath. After the old man died, the preacher folded the piece of paper without looking and when the old man's wife arrived, he gave her the note, thinking it was important last words for her. When she opened the note, she fainted and fell to the floor with the note still in her hand. The preacher picked it up and read the message. It said, 'Get off my oxygen hose!' If I don't see you again this year, I wish you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I'm proud to end my 25 years of writing articles in the Yorktown News-View in 2024. I have mixed emotions about what the new year will bring. Stay Well.
