Hello my fellow Cueroites, Wow, 2024 has come and gone, what a year it was!! I can’t wait for what 2025 has in store. I am hoping for an exciting and productive year in 2025, which will be my full year in office. This time next year I will be faced with a decision on running for re-election in 2026. In January 2025, the City Secretary will be accepting filing documents for the two At-large and District 2 council positions which will be up for re-election this coming year (May 2025). If interested please contact Jennifer Urban, City Secretary, in city hall.
The Knights of Columbus worked Christmas in the park on Saturday December 21. My granddaughter helped her Popo greet visitors and accepted donations. Please think about doing a family volunteer event this coming year. Christmas in the Park is an excellent opportunity to teach your children civic duty and the gratification of service to the community. There are many more events during the year in need of volunteers. Most events are free to the public, however rely on volunteers to insure success. Let's make 2025 the year of the volunteer.
Christmas was awesome for the Garza Family this year. Velma and I headed to Louisiana for New years to spend time with Emil Jr. and his Family. He is assigned (Active Duty) to Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City. We are so Proud of his accomplishments. Please think of/ pray for our service members and first responders.
