Little League Registration

Registration for the 2025 Cuero Little League season is currently open and will all be conducted online, on our website, cuerolittleleague. com. The last day to register is January 15, 2025. For those who wish to volunteer in a particular area: coaching, umpiring, assisting, please sign up when registering your player. Hallet Oak Fundraiser 

Come to a special soiree Art Auction Fundraiser and Reception at the Hallet Oak Gallery on January 11, 2025, 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Live music performed by Sean Orr, historical Texas strings.

Cuero Regional Hospital Blood Drive

Cuero Regional Hospital will be hosting a blood drive for the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in the Education Classroom on Thursday, January 16th, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Anyone who is 16 years old weighing 120 pounds (with parental consent form), or at least 17 years old weighing 110 pounds, and in good general health can donate blood. Donors must present photo ID, last four digits of their social security number and their birth date. Please visit SouthTexasBlood.org to make an appointment. Walk-Ins are Welcome! GVEC Scholarship

The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) is pleased to once again offer scholarships to high school seniors graduating in Spring 2024. Heart/ Stroke Awareness & CPR

In honor of National Heart Health Awareness Month, Zion Lutheran Church of Mission Valley will host a Stroke and Heart Attack Prevention Class with Hands-On CPR Training on Thursday, February 20, 79 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall (12183 FM 236, Mission Valley). DeTar Healthcare System team members will lead the free community training on this critical, life-saving topic. The class is open to anyone aged 10 and older and will focus on teaching life-saving techniques, including handsonly CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of a stroke or heart attack and how to provide immediate assistance until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. A team from DeTar Healthcare System will lead the class, ensuring participants leave with practical knowledge that could save a life in an emergency situation. Please note that this training is not for CPR certification but is designed to empower individuals to act quickly in a crisis. Family Storytime

Every Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. the Cuero Municipal Library has Family Storytime. This engaging program features crafts, snacks, stories, and fun activities tailored for children aged 0-5.

Senior Coffee Hour & Social

Cuero VFW Bingo

Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home. Games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds of these games benefit local charities, youth, and veterans in need. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

DeWitt County Shutterbugs

Do you love photography? Do you want to learn more, be inspired, challenged? Do you want to get together with other creative photographers? If so, please join us at a Shutterbugs meeting. Meetings are held on every third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cuero, 408 N. Gonzales Street. Please enter through the front door under the awning. Child Find Evaluations 

School districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services. Child Find is a process to identify, locate, and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD’s are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Eligibility is determined through a team assessment by program staff. Please call Jan Clink Scales at 361-275-1900 extension 142, to schedule an appointment.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email [email protected].
