Metting, Rau lead Wildcat All-District selections

District 15-2A, Division II champion Shiner was defeated December 18, 2024, in the Class 2A, Division II State Championship Game, 36-29, by Muenster. The District 152A, Division II All-District team can now be released. The Yorktown Wildcats were represented very well after posting a 7-4 record on the season and finishing in 3rd place in the district. Here are the Wildcat All-District selections: First Team All-District: Junior Brody Metting was named 1st Team All-District Quarterback. Metting had an amazing season: rushing for 1444 yards, more than any other quarterback in school history and rushed for 25 touchdowns. He also threw for over 500 yards and four touchdowns. Metting went through an incredible stretch early in the season when he rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns against Banquete, then the very next week rushed for 268 yards and six touchdowns against Skidmore-Tynan.

Senior Rylan Rau was named 1st Team All-District Offensive and Defensive Lineman. On offense, Rau finished with 26 pancake blocks. On defense, Rau had 69 tackles, which included 22.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, six caused fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked punt.

Senior Richard Flores was named 1st Team All-District Defensive Lineman. Flores 65 tackles, with 21.5 tackles for loss, had three sacks, caused five fumbles, recovered one fumble, and blocked an extra point.
