Matthys not filing for City Council
Dear Editor, My name is Bill Matthys, and it has been my privilege to serve as your Council Member at Large for the past 17 years. I am enormously grateful to the voters of the city of Cuero for electing me to eight consecutive terms since my appointment to the city Council in 2008. The purpose of this letter is to announce that I will not be a candidate for re-election in the election to be held May 3, 2025.
The seat I am vacating in May may be filled by any adult in good financial standing with the city who resides in any of the four districts within the city limits. The period for filing to run for the seat is January 15 through February 14, 2025. Interested parties may pick up a filing packet from the City Secretary, Ms. Jennifer Urban, at City Hall, 212 E.
