Who are you depending on during these days?

We are facing many days of uncertainty. We are experiencing sleepless nights worrying about unknown ailments without proper medical cure or care. Many have lost their jobs and worried about their future income.

This a frightening time, however the government is stepping in with givea- ways and money to help you get by. This itself can be scary, but it is also very much appreciated. Personally thinking, this could result in socialism because we might start depending on our government. I honestly believe many of our government officials have our people’s best interest in their heart and want to help, however I also believe that many politicians see this as an opportunity to expand their greed and control over our people.

As Christian people and believers in God we must maintain our focus and keep our eyes on Jesus. There are many times that we find ourselves in difficult situations which seems to have no answer or solution. There is song that many of us know called “The Solid Rock” which was written by a young preacher named Edward Mote in 1834. Mote’s parents were poor, ungodly and ran an inn in London. This meant that the young Mote could play and run in the streets while his parents were at work.

As a youth Mote became an apprentice to a carpenter who taught him to become a master cabinet maker. At the age of 16 the carpenter took Mote to hear an evangelist where he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. From then on, he rose to be a very successful preacher.

His education before accepting Christ was to attend a school that didn’t allow Bibles in class or to be taught. It is much like our schools in the last few years. Thankfully some are changing back currently.

His life was in turmoil until he turned his life over to Jesus. He overcame all his troubles because his trust went from the world to Jesus Christ. In his song he told of some of his thoughts. The first verse says: “My hope is built on nothing less; than Jesus blood and righteous. I dare not trust the sweetest frame. But wholly lean on Jesus name.”

What is so different in the world today than what it was in the earlier years. Yes, we are in some trying times, but most people are leaning on the world to get them through instead of relying on the blood of Jesus. It doesn’t matter what we are going through Jesus will see us through it if we have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior. We need to realize that these days will end on earth and we can live them to the best of our ability, but our eternal life is at home with Jesus.

We need to turn our troubles and tribulations over to our Lord and Savior. Once you do this you will experience the peace and understanding that only Jesus can provide.

Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus for my time on earth. I pray that I live the way you want to and that I can be a witness for you. Amen.
