Training, hurricanes and budget preparation top July

Currently into month number two of my tenure as Mayor of Cuero, to say I have been busy would be an understatement. Councilmen Hensen, Arroyo and I attended The Texas Municipal League (TML) training for new Mayors and Councilmembers in San Antonio July 18 and 19.

Currently into month number two of my tenure as Mayor of Cuero, to say I have been busy would be an understatement. Councilmen Hensen, Arroyo and I attended The Texas Municipal League (TML) training for new Mayors and Councilmembers in San Antonio July 18 and 19.

I attended the Memorial service for Judge Gary Schroeder, Cuero’s former Municipal Court Judge, who recently passed away. The council appointed two seasoned Judges as the presiding and associate Municipal Court Judges (Shelly Garza Medina and Hallie Hall, respectively) during the July Council Meeting.

The city dodged a bullet with the path of Hurricane Beryl, and we received much needed rain without the damage and destruction experienced by our neighbors to the east. I am proud to state the County and the City were proactive and ready, should recovery have been necessary.
