Cuero Regional Hospital Blood Drive Cuero Regional Hospital will be hosting a blood drive for the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in the Education Classroom on Thursday, January 16th, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Anyone who is 16 years old weighing 120 pounds (with parental consent form), or at least 17 years old weighing 110 pounds, and in good general health can donate blood.

I.C.A. New Year Kickoff Party

The Victoria Crossroads I.C.A. will be having our first meeting for 2025. It will be held as a New Year Kickoff Party on January 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Frogg’s, 2902 N. Navarro, Victoria. A meal will be furnished.

We hope to see new members come and join. We will be discussing proposed chapter by-laws and the election of officers. We wish everyone a Blessed and Healthy New Year.

Little League

The Cuero Little League online registration is currently open for players ages 4-16, in the baseball and softball divisions. Tee Ball is currently coed and is listed under the baseball division. You can complete registration on the website, cuerolittleleague. com. Regular registration is available through 1-25-25. It is very important that all players wanting to participate in the 2025 Little League season register early, or no later than 1-25-25.

Players ages 4-16 will compete in the following baseball and softball divisions: Tee Ball (Baseball) – ages 4-5; Coach Pitch – ages 6-8; Minors – ages 9-10; Majors – ages 11-12; Juniors – ages 13-14; Seniors – ages 15-16. The first assessment will be on Thursday, 1-23-25 and the second assessment will be on Sunday, 1-26-25. Players league-age 6 -12 must attend ONE assessment. GVEC Scholarship

The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) is pleased to once again offer scholarships to high school seniors graduating in Spring 2024. Heart/ Stroke Awareness & CPR

In honor of National Heart Health Awareness Month, Zion Lutheran Church of Mission Valley will host a Stroke and Heart Attack Prevention Class with Hands-On CPR Training on Thursday, February 20, 79 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall (12183 FM 236, Mission Valley). DeTar Healthcare System team members will lead the free community training on this critical, life-saving topic. The class is open to anyone aged 10 and older and will focus on teaching life-saving techniques, including handsonly CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of a stroke or heart attack and how to provide immediate assistance until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. A team from DeTar Healthcare System will lead the class, ensuring participants leave with practical knowledge that could save a life in an emergency situation. Please note that this training is not for CPR certification but is designed to empower individuals to act quickly in a crisis. Free Early Learning Program

Families in the community with children ages 0-4 are invited to attend the Cuero ISD Early Learning Program held every Wednesday at 10:00 AM & 2:00 PM at Cuero Intermediate School Library, located at 502 Park Heights Drive. Children enjoy music, dance, storytime, activity & sensory stations, brandnew books, and much more! This program is FREE for all families to attend. Family Storytime

Every Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. the Cuero Municipal Library has Family Storytime. This engaging program features crafts, snacks, stories, and fun activities tailored for children aged 0-5.

Senior Coffee Hour & Social

Wednesdays at 10 a.m., the Dinter American Legion No. 3 will host a Veterans and Seniors Coffee Hour and Social. 310 S. Esplanade. For more information, call 361-275-6334 or 775-304-7802.

Turner Hall Bingo
