Tommie Webb Herrera

Tommie Webb Herrera, 95, of Victoria, formerly of Cuero passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. She was born January 25, 1929, in Cuero to Trinidad and Isabel R. Webb. She graduated from Cuero High School in 1949. For many years, she and her sister sang with their father’s band. In the 70’s, she and her sister recorded two songs with two of her sons as musicians. After raising her children, she returned to school and became a beautician/ salon owner until her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and loved being a member of the church choir.

Tommie loved everyone deeply and unconditionally. She cherished her Lord, her family, her pets and working in her beautiful yard. She loved to sew and cook for family and friends. She always took such pride in what she did and instilled a tremendous work ethic in her children. She will always be remembered for her tamales, empanadas, and homemade candy. She leaves a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, selflessness and gratitude that will transcend for generations.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Nancy) Herrera; daughter, Carmen (Louis) Herrera- Lara; grandsons, Jay Lara, Marc Lara and Garrett Herrera; granddaughters, Alexis Lara and Mia Herrera and daughter-inlove, Sandra Pena.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Robert “Bobby” Herrera and Henry Herrera and her sister, Lydia W. Rodriguez.

Visitation was held Monday, January 13, 2025, 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary followed at 6:30 PM. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.

Pallbearers include Gary Herrera, Louis Lara, Jay Lara, Marc Lara, Garrett Herrera and Mia Herrera.

Honorary Pallbearers include David Rodriguez and Roland Rodriguez.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
