The 2025 Yorktown Western Days Miss Yorktown Pageant is coming up on January 25, 2025 at the YISD Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.
2025 Nordheim FFA Stock Show
The Nordheim FFA Stock Show will be held on Saturday, January 25, at the Nordheim FFA Show Barn. The market judging and breeding animal showing will begin at 9:00 AM. The premium auction will begin at 2:00 PM. The Nordheim School Food, Art, Craft, and Models Show will be happening in the Main Building across the street. The Grand, Reserve, Blue-Ribbon Foods, Art and Crafts will sell at the conclusion of the animal sale. There will be a concession stand on the premises, sponsored by the Nordheim 2025 Class and 2026 Senior Class. The Norheim FFA Stock Show “Tickets of Chance” will be on sale until 12 noon, with winners announced at 1:30 PM.

Westhoff Mueller-Schaffner American Legion Post #369 will have a meeting on Monday, January 27th. at the Legion Hall in Westhoff. Pot Luck supper at 6:30 and meeting at 7:00. Hope to see you there.
Stock Show Celebration of Success
A CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS, sponsored by the Nordheim FFA Fundraisers, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Nordheim Shooting Club Dining Hall. Serving will begin at 6:30 PM. A Silent Auction will be held to benefit the Nordheim Beacon of Hope Cancer Group from 6:00-7:30.
Cactus Country at Gruenau
Gruenau Hall will welcome Cactus Country to the stage for a Sunday afternoon dance on February 2. Doors will open at 1:00 pm. The band will be playing from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The price is $10 per person, and those 12 and under are free. Gruenau Hall is located at 1012 Gruenau Road.
Local News Documentary Screening
The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas will host a free screening of the acclaimed documentary For the Record on Sunday, February 2, at 3:00 PM at the Lyric Theater (120 E. South Main Street, Flatonia). The event includes a post-screening panel discussion with local newspaper editors and publishers about the future of community journalism.
Bunco Night
$10 entry at 5D Steakhouse in Yorktown. Come early and order dinner and drinks at 6 p.m., bunco starts at 7 p.m. Proceeds benefit Yorktown Community Marquee.

Yorktown Elementary School Reunion
YES Class of 1995 plans are underway for our 30 year class reunion on Saturday, March 29 at Vietnam veteran center (old American Legion Hall) 901 Hwy 72 E beginning at 3 pm. Meals on Wheels volunteers needed
Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email [email protected].
