Cuero – In recognition of AmericanHeartMonththis February, Cuero Regional Hospital is committed to raising awareness about heart health and offering resources to help our community lead healthier lives. Throughout the month, we will host a series of screening events, heart healthy cooking event, and special pricing for cardiac screenings, providing vital information on how to prevent heart disease and improve cardiovascularhealth.
Heart Disease: A Growing Concern Heart disease remainstheleadingcauseof death in the United States, but the good news is that manyformsofheartdisease can be prevented through lifestyle changes and early detection. This February, Cuero Regional Hospital will focus on educating the community about risk factors for heart disease, including high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and smoking, as well as the importance of regular exercise, healthy eating, and stressmanagement.
“We want to empower individuals to take control of their heart health,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO. “By offering educational resources and affordable screenings, we hope to encourage our community to take proactive steps toward heart disease prevention.”
Heart Month Events and Special Offerings Throughout February, Cuero Regional Hospital will host the following events to support heart health awareness: National Wear Red Day – Friday, February 7th, Join us, along with the American Heart Association, in wearing the color red on this Friday to help support and bring awareness to heart disease. We wear RED to be seen, to be counted, to be heard and to make an impact.
Heart Health Fridays – Every FRIDAY in February, 8:30 – 10:30 AM In the main lobby of Cuero Regional Hospital we will offer a special price of $10, for Blood Pressure screening and a Lipid Panel lab draw. No appointment needed, walk ups are welcome. Please come fasting for the blood draw.
Heart Health Awareness Event – Tuesday, February 11th, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Friar Ag Center, Come hear Dr. William Craig, Cardiologist, at 5:30pm kick off the evening. Then enjoy a fun, heart healthy, food competition between local culinary teams. Visit numerous healthcare professionals to learn the latest in heart health education, and enter to win a door prize to be drawn at the end of the event. Event sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension – Texas A&M Healthy South Texas, and Cuero Regional Hospital.
