GOD first...Heavenly Father, we thank You for the many blessings we receive through Your Amazing Grace. Some are known and some are unknown yet we still receive them. Give us strength and courage to fend off our sinful ways as we pray for forgiveness through Your Son Jesus. Amen.

'Two houseflies were talking.

'What do you mean?' said the other.
'Well,' said the first. 'I was just wondering and thinking, why did people spend a lot of money on this beautiful ceiling and then walk on the floor?'
'Mother and Father Kangaroo were on their way to a picnic, but every third hop or so Baby Kangaroo popped out of his mother's pouch. Finally, Father became impatient and said to his wife, 'Why don't you tuck the little one farther down into your pouch so he won't keep jumping out?'
'It isn't his fault,' replied Mother Kangaroo. 'I have the hiccups!'
It seems that my article has also been appearing in the Cuero Record now and I have been wondering if my dear friend Ben Prause picked up on it. More on that later in the article.
The Nordheim Volunteer Fire Department is having its Annual Membership BBQ on Sunday, March 9th, at the Nordheim Shooting Club Hall. Membership is $5.00 and those who want to enjoy their famous Chicken BBQ starting at 11 o'clock, the charge will be $15.00 per plate. The menu will consist of bbq chicken, potato salad, green beans,and bread. All reserve tickets for the meals will be need to be purchased ahead of time from Bettie @ 361550-2612, Peggy 361649-2443, or Roberta. Get your tickets before March 4th.
Other events will include a brown bag raffle and starting at 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. They are bringing back BINGO games of years gone by with a variety of prizes. So come and enjoy a meal, friendship, bingo, and helping a good cause for supporting the community of Nordheim and their fire department.
Judge Ben Prause, a good friend from Dewitt County Courthouse Days, came by my house one day and honked his car horn and didn't wait long enough to see me as I had gone on an errand shortly before. Janet, my house keeper, was given a note with his name on it. As I have so many times, I went by his home and banged on his front door and he wouldn't answer. I gave him plenty of time to crawl, walk, or holler but no response. After I got the visit from him here in Nordheim, I went back the next day, a Friday, and still no response. If he can drive to Nordheim, he can surely answer his front door. I go to the Cuero Rec. Center three times a week at no specific time to try and keep fit with exercises along with some of them that are kinfolks or friends. At 90 years old, I have been going there for over a year and have met some interesting folks along the way. Ben, if you read this, I invite you to come to the Rec. Center and get your butt off the couch and get some exercise. It will do you great to get fit as some of the older group there do. There are a lot of young people doing their work outs too. And it's just blocks from your house. I know you will have a bundle of excuses but I implore you to get fit so we can enjoy life a little while longer.
I also wonder where Pat Kennedy is hiding. Some people told me he lives in Cuero but for over a year, I haven't seen hide nor hair of him anywhere. I thought our paths would cross sometime but so far, no Pat. I guess he is hiding too.
