This is Reporter Ele Chew from Yorktown News. During my reporting trips covering Yorktown City Council meetings and other events, I rediscovered the charm of the small towns in DeWitt County. While photographing the 25-ft lighted pole Christmas tree in Yorktown City Park, I nearly tripped over some memorial benches. I reached out to the members of “Keep Yorktown Beautiful” and learned that they were responsible for the playground equipment, gazebo, and many other improvements in Yorktown.
