Cuero general election Saturday


   Saturday, May 11 is election day for the City of Cuero General Election. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the DeWitt County Elections Office, 115 N. Gonzales in Cuero.
   About 70 votes have been cast during early voting in this election.
   Bill Matthys and Tony Allen are the incumbents for the at-large positions on the council. Both of them filed for re-election as did former council member David Ruiz. Voters will select two of those three candidates.
   John Fuqua representing District 1 and Roy Johnson representing District 4 were unopposed in their bids for re-election.
City of Cuero registered voters must bring some form of identification to cast a ballot.
