Felomena (Felia) Nava


   Felomena (Felia) Nava, 58, of Cuero, passed away on Monday, May 13. 
   She was born on Feb. 14, 1955 (Valentine’s Day) in Cuero. This date of birth was perfect for a woman who showed love to so many. 
   Felia is preceded in death by her mother Caroline Liendo Ruiz, grandmother Juanita Zapata Liendo, and grandfather Louis Maria Liendo. She was born to David Ruiz Sr. of Harlingen and the late Caroline Liendo Ruiz of Cuero.
She is survived by her son David Nava and his wife Diamond Nava of Garland; daughter Josie Nava of Corpus Christi; and granddaughter Azalea Nava.
   She is also survived by her sisters Martha Boyd of Cuero, Joan of Arc Ruiz (Sharon) of Fort Worth, Anna Hill of Cuero and Aggie Sierra of Cuero; brothers David (Elizabeth) Ruiz and Michael (Mary Jane) Ruiz of Cuero and Ray Ruiz of El Paso; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.
   Felia worked as a cook and a CNA. She enjoyed cooking and helping those in need. She often did for family and friends events including receptions following funerals. She was also a member of the Guadalupanas of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cuero.
   She was known to all as “Momma Felia” because of all the unconditional love she gave.
   A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. May 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. A church service will be held at 10 a.m. May 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father David Berger officiating. Burial will be Hillside Cemetery.
