Large turnout downtown for KidFest


   Nineteen vendors and plenty of children’s activities were present downton at the Main Street Program KidFest event May 20. Bridgette Bise, Main Street Program executive director, estimated about 250 people attended the event. 
   Activities included a water slide, a video game truck and a bungee trampoline. A pickle eating contest was held for children. Jayla Schorre won the contest. The prize was a jar of 250 nickels and Schlitterbahn tickets.
   The Cuero Wellness Center sponsored a one mile fun run. In the up to three year old age division, Canon Carbanara placed first. In the 4-6 age division, Tre’Quan McNary placed first, Arissa Carbanara placed second, Ja’Reon Thomas placed third, Yazmine McKaine placed fourth and Joshua Schorre placed fifth. In the 7-9 age division, William Carbonara placed first and tied for overall winner, Jeremiah Villarreal placed second, Dorian McCarthy placed third and Carmen DeLeon placed fourth. In the 10-12 year old division, Sarah Simon placed first, Jalen McCarthy placed second and Allison Hahn placed third. In the 13 and older division, Nicholas Searcy placed first and tied for overall winner.
