DeWitt Medical District (Cuero Community Hospital) directors will be meeting Thursday, Sept. 5, at noon at the hospital to adopt a budget and tax rate for the new fiscal year.
In a public hearing on the proposed budget last week, chief financial officer Greg Pritchett prepared a review of some of the district’s anticipated expenses.
The district will be looking at expenditures of about $30 million for the coming year. Plans call for holding the tax rate at 13¢, which is the current rate.
Because a large portion of the hospital district is in the Eagle Ford Shale production zone, the district will receive about $954,000 more in tax revenue in the coming year than it received in the current year.
