Almost 17,000 pounds of electronic waste collected

The City of Cuero collected electronic waste Sept. 28 at the city park basketball pavilion. Computers, printers, monitors, TVs, microwaves, and copiers were collected. The total amount collected was 16,994 pounds. The hosted collected 10,440 pounds of electronic waste in March. Following is a report of environment savings according to a report from Cooperative Teamwork & Recycling Assistance: 144 trees saved; 34,383 kilowatt hours saved; 59,479 gallons of water saved; 25 cubic yards of landfill saved; 510 pounds of air pollution saved; and $297.40 of landfill fees saved.
