Kats claim district

It was not so much about the game as it was about celebrating 20 years going to the playoffs and calling it “Legendary.” The Yorktown Kitty Kats finished their regular season 33-5, 12-0. After the game against Nordheim at home, the Kitty Kats cut the net as part of their celebration as district champions and playoff bound.
Yorktown coach Deirdra Alexander said, “We are not sure what the playoffs will hold for us. We have high goals but all we can do is play each and every game like it is our last.”
The team was later paraded on Main Street riding on a trailer with hay bails. The Yorktown Fire Department had a fire engine in front and behind the trailer blowing their horns with a trail of cars behind.
