Cuero Main Street program plans Christmas event downtown

Ice skating, carriage rides and live snow globes in downtown Cuero?
The Cuero Main Street promotions committee has unveiled plans for the first annual Christmas in Downtown Dec. 12-14. Events will be held on E. Main Street and Esplanade.
The committee hopes to draw people downtown for an old fashioned Christmas experience to compliment the successful and highly attended Christmas in the Park. The committee has contracted with Artificial Ice Events to have an artificial ice skating rink where kids of all ages can skate on the synthetic material but with actual ice skates.
There will also be a giant live snow globe where families and groups of up to six can get inside and take their photo. Some of the other events include horse-drawn carriage rides downtown, a shopping treasure hunt and a 5K. Of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Santa’s Shoppe. Plans also include a Deck the Downtown Window Contest for businesses in the Main Street District.
Plans for the event hours are 5-9 p.m. Thursday, 5-10 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. For more details on Christmas In Downtown, visit the Cuero Main Street Website at, “like” their Facebook page or call the Cuero Main Street office at 485-8008.
