Roland Willie Lincke, 85, of Yorktown entered into the presence of our Lord on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013.
Roland was born on Aug. 27, 1928 to Leland O. and Anna Storch Lincke in Nopal, DeWitt County. He was baptized at St. Mark Lutheran Church on Oct. 14, 1928 and was later confirmed at St. Paul on April 2, 1944. Roland attended Clear Creek School until leaving to help on the family farm.
Roland proudly served his county during the Korean War with the 45th Division, 179th Infantry, Co. L. He entered the service on November 10, 1950 was ordered to Korea in Dec. 1951 where he served until August 1952.
On Oct. 9, 1955, Roland married Junell Wulf at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The couple recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
As an adult, Roland was employed as a parts and service manager for Ford Tractor for 42 years working with dealerships in Yorktown, Sinton and Corpus Christi.
He is survived by his wife, son Mark S. Lincke of Yorktown and daughter Brenda Lincke Fisseler and husband Michael of Hallettsville. Roland was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Willie, Edwin, Herbert, Salma and twin brother Raymond.
Roland was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Gruenau Turn & Schuetzen Verein, VFW, Hermann Sons and the 45th Infantry Division Organization.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 11 at Massey Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday Dec. 12 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Charles Lincke, Brian Lincke, James Lincke, Dr. John Frels, Richard Wulf and Robert Paniagua. Honorary pallbearers are the living and deceased members of the 179th Infantry Division, Co. L.
