La Vernia JV Bears visited the playatorium to take on the Yorktown Wildcats last Thursday. With the exception of the first period both teams were within two points in each period. When it was all said and done the Wildcats walked off the court with their heads held up high grabbing the win 58-53.
The first period the Wildcats led off 11-8. They were able to compensate over the six foot players with speed and good protection of the paint.

However, Jacob Garcia, Steven Herrera and Logan Romans were hot on their heels making turnovers to keep the game balanced. At the end of the second period Yorktown scored 16 points against the Bears 14.
