The Yorktown Wildcats clipped the wings of the Woodsboro Eagles Jan. 7 in the last two minutes of the game by a score of 73-70 at home.
The Eagles came out very fast in the first period and were able to shoot inside and out scoring 23 points. Grant Allman tried to stop the Eagle drive inside but within 55 seconds he had two fouls called against him. DeMarco pulled him out to settle him down. At the end of the period the Eagles led 7-23.
DeMarco said, “They [Woodsboro] hit a couple three pointers and then a two right off the bat. We missed so many we could not buy a bucket.”
The second period the Wildcats outscored the Eagles 20-18 ending the half 27-41.
