POW experience in exhibit


Cuero Daily Record managing editor Ken Towery was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for local reporting in 1955. 
But he earned his reputation much earlier in life. 
In his book, The Chow Dipper, published in 1994, Towery recounts how as a World War II POW in Corregidor, he was chosen to dip the meager amounts of food made available fellow prisoners. His bowl was available to anyone who felt he had given them less than he got.
