Beautiful, “chamber of commerce” weather prevailed over the 2014 Nordheim FFA Stock Show and Sale held this past Saturday at the Nordheim Show Barn. This year’s show was dedicated to Elo and Mickie Pfeifer, owners of Nordheim’s long-running business, Broadway Grocery.
After an afternoon of fast and furious talking by auctioneer Gary Jarzombek, and fast and furious bidding by generous buyers, as well as a parade of steers, lambs, goats, hogs and homemade craft and baked goods by the students, the show netted a grand total of $84,714 for auction sales of all animals and items sold.
Nordheim High School Senior Alyssa Leister realized a “trifecta” in sales, taking top honors with the Grand Champion lamb, Reserve Chamber lamb, and Grand Champion Art.  Her Grand Champion lamb was purchased by Amanda Tam, Edgar & Gladys’ Cafe, Dynasty Enterprises, and Nordheim FFA Fundraisers, who paid a total of $3,000 for the 150-lb. animal.
