The Yorktown Wildcats played the Runge Yellow Jackets at home on Jan. 24 and nearly robbed Runge with a win 53-50.

For the first minute and 45 seconds neither team could put points on the board. Yorktown was the first to put up points which may have given them the edge to lead after the first period 11-9. The second period only got worse for the Wildcats scoring only two points ending the first half 13-22.
Yorktown coach Scott DeMarco said, “We were probably a little more athletic than they are from a match up stand point with the exception of their 6 foot 7 inch player. We got out of complete rhythm when they slowed us down. When our tempo and timing is off we don’t make the shots.”
